When I first heard Britney Spears in MTV way back in 1998 with her first hit …Baby One More Time, I was actually amazed to be honest with all of you. Come on, who would have thought that a 17-year-old could have loads of talent underneath her? Sadly, controversies derailed Britney’s shining career and after releasing Circus, Britney decided to release 3 in 2009 and surprisingly, I did like the song very much.

The song really is rock solid. The arrangement is pretty impressive. The hooks are very catchy which make the track a very strong pop record. A problem however springs up with the vulgar lyrics. The lyrics are very sublime but once the meaning is uncovered, the song does sound gross. However, I do not have any problem whatsoever with the song’s meaning. It all depends on the listener’s maturity level, in my humble opinion.

I do not have any problem with Britney’s vocals. They are not outstanding but they do the job without any flashes. The song really is catchy with the repetitive lyrics helping the cause. 3‘s better than some of her recent material, Gimme More included. The track is a very strong pop record but had Britney’s vocals been more outstanding from top to bottom, this would have been her greatest hit. Sadly, this is not the case but there is no denying that the track really is great and brought Britney Spears back to relevance convincingly.
