With Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove approaching her 17th birthday, she is now doing what every teen sensation has done in the past: release some singles for a debut effort. Kissin’ U aims to formally jump-start Cosgrove’s musical career with a bang. However, is the single successful in doing so?
Embedded with a nifty pop hook, the single strongly capitalizes on the oozing charm that has made Cosgrove a sensation. I was actually surprised to hear Cosgrove singing well in the track. What is nice with the track is that the guitars are not overpowering. They are laid back which rightfully puts the spotlight on Cosgrove’s musicality.
At first listen, the track may not be that charming but as one continues to give more plays to the track, the satisfaction just grows. Overall, Kissin’ U is a great first offering from Cosgrove. The single is successful in jump-starting Cosgrove’s soon-to-blossom musical career, in my book. Here is me hoping that she does not fall into the pitfalls that someone named Lohan suffered.
