The Reggae Club Single Review: What A Wonderful World by Ziggy Marley

Listening to songs from the reggae genre is not exactly an appealing thing to do, I have to admit. Once I heard the Louis Armstrong classic receiving the reggae treatment by none other than five-time Grammy Award winner Ziggy Marley himself, I was pleasantly surprised. The song, immortalized alongside some timeless Disney classics, actually gives off some vibe which makes the listener believe that it could have been great had it been infused with reggae elements in its original release.

Reggae plus Disney would have been a combination that could have caused some eyebrows to raise instantly. It just does not seem right, at first sight. However, such skepticisms should not prevail. The What A Wonderful World remake by Ziggy Marley actually ends up as a track that was successful in tying up the knot between the contrasting worlds of reggae and Disney. Marley did the best he could to give justice to such a timeless hit and boy, he did prevail in convincing fashion. What a wonderful world, indeed.
