Single Review: Ghost by Fefe Dobson

Published on July nd, 2010

Felicia “Fefe” Dobson returns with some spanking sassy pop hooks with her latest single, Ghost. Coated with accessible lyrics that accentuate the job accomplished by the luscious synths, Ghost easily ends up as a very palatable pop record. The single may remind one of listening to Kelly Clarkson material only spiced up with the electronic undercurrents.

I honestly think it is foolish to compare her sound to that of Miley Cyrus’. Fefe Dobson’s musicality easily outclasses Miley’s by a mile. The single’s theme is something that I really found appealing and the way it connected to the title of the track only added to my amazement. The killer bridge totally pushed the track into reaching that level of pure brilliance.

Hopefully, this single signals the start of good things coming Fefe’s way. Fefe is one heckuva talent that should not get lost in a mainstream market that appreciates severely manipulated vocals. Ghost should downright establish Fefe’s presence. After a botched attempt in making a sophomore effort and seeing her material recorded by other artists, it is about time for Fefe to continue her interrupted journey to more success.
