Exempt From Classification Artist Feature: LectroLips

The duo earned some attention from blogs come January 2009 when they started posting their demos over the World Wide Web. Last month, the duo released their EP entitled Exempt From Classification. The EP is loaded with tracks that craftily utilize elements coming from the synthesizer and fuse it with elements from the pop and electronic genres to form a record that is definitely palatable to the tastes of the listening public.

Exempt From Classification, which also serves as the duo’s introductory EP, does a fantastic job in showcasing the abilities of LectroLips. Tracks that do stand out in the ears of the author are This Record Sound and Love Has Lied. The former possesses a vibe that may be reminiscent of the 80′s but with added solid production work that makes the whole track still feel modern. Meanwhile, the latter has some lovely synthesizer action with additional vocals that seem to be influenced by the electronic genre to boot. Combinations of genres are present in the entirety of the EP and luckily, the duo does them well.

Still not convinced? Included in this post are streams of Love Has Lied and This Record Sound for your listening pleasure.
