2010banner 2010 A Year of Great Music: First Things First

I have not posted anything lately. Things have been stressful to say the least and that left me no time at all for blogging. Anyway, I would like to just say that yes, my year-end list is finished and the first part will be published later. I would like to share what the list will look like just to give you an idea.

1. The list will have 100 songs this time around.

Last year, I did a list with 75 songs in them and I think I could step up this year. Fortunately, I managed to find 100 songs.

2. The 100 songs will be ranked accordingly.

The songs will be ranked accordingly for this year’s list. What that means is that if you see a song at #100, the song is deemed as ‘the lowest’ in the list. In simpler terms, the songs are now listed in order.

3. The songs included in the list are tracks released in the year 2010.

I guess this requires no explanation.

4. Whatever ratings I have given to the songs in the past do count.

Some of the songs in the list have been reviewed but you will see some tracks that were given 4 stars ranked higher than tracks that were initially given 4 and a half stars. Why is this so? In making the list, I also considered the ‘overall quality’ of the tracks when compared to the other tracks. For example, I gave Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream with 4 and a half stars but then it is listed lower than let us say Robyn’s Indestructible which received a 4 star rating. From my point of view, the latter is better than the former so I eventually ranked it higher in the list.

5. The banner artwork is again made by my friend Katrina of Pop From The Block.

You may have seen the banner artwork of last year’s list. I assume you loved it (well, I did). Well, the banner artwork for this year’s list again made by Katrina. I hope you will love it as much as I do.

I guess that is it. The list will be posted by parts just like last year. Comment on the parts please. If you have any violent reactions, suggestions, or would simply like to pinch in your two cents, just post a comment!
