Forty songs have been unveiled so far in the blog’s list of songs that made a huge mark in the year 2010. Today, the fifth part of the list will be unveiled. Again, feel free to share your sentiments by posting a comment. I would love to see what you think about the list. Let us get the ball rolling and get closer to unveiling the top songs of 2010.

Well Well Well by Duffy 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#60 Well, Well, Well – Duffy

From: Endlessly

For some, Well, Well, Well may sound like Duffy inhaled lots of helium and still went to the recording studio to create the track. To be honest, I dig the lead single of Duffy’s Endlessly album. It is a hybrid of dance and soul and ends up as effective. The song also sampled ‘Gonna Make You Sweat’ by C+C Music Factory and Duffy even enlisted the help of The Roots for this single.

Dynamite 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#59 Dynamite – Taio Cruz

From: Rokstarr

This track by Taio Cruz definitely made me want to throw my hands up in the air. This is one of Taio’s best tracks this year. The line “I’m wearing all my favorite brands, brands, brands” sucks though. The remix featuring Jennifer Lopez is not entirely convincing either. Still, this track is definitely solid and if you have not heard of it, you are living in a cave.

Poison by Nicole Scherzinger 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#58 Poison – Nicole Scherzinger

Produced by RedOne

Also one of the best tracks to ever come out this year is Nicole Scherzinger’s RedOne-produced Poison. The track is downright lethal in my opinion. What about the chorus? Well that chorus just kills with its much-appreciated ferocity. Will we finally see Nicole achieve solo success? I am honestly hoping that we will see such happen.

A Year Without Rain Single 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#57 A Year Without Rain – Selena Gomez & The Scene

From: A Year Without Rain

This is the last Selena Gomez & The Scene single that will appear on this list. A Year Without Rain is very distant from Selena’s Disney image. However, with such happening, the likability of the track does not get compromised even a single bit. I am expecting better things from Selena in 2011, that is for sure.

Shine A Light by McFly 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#56 Shine A Light – McFly feat. Taio Cruz

From: Above The Noise

McFlygoing the “boyband route?” Check. Enlist the help of a chart-topping pop artist? Check that as well. This is one of the unexpected pairings in the music scene this year but it did work out just fine eventually. The synthesizer-heavy chorus is luscious and the “Eh,eh” playing in the background is equally awesome as well.

Raise Your Glass Art 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#55 Raise Your Glass – Pink

From: Greatest Hits…So Far!!!

This is one of the new tracks in Pink’s greatest hits album. Produced by Max Martin (the man behind Katy Perry’s California Gurls), the track is lyrically smart with the line “So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways” being my favorite. I have to say that the track is also uplifting in some way.

Your Song by Ellie Goulding 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#54 Your Song – Ellie Goulding

From: Bright Lights

I have to say that Miss Goulding did a clever decision in making a cover of Elton John’s Your Song. I have to say she gave the original justice with her rendition which displayed her massively sweet divine vocals to perfection. This track shows that simplicity in music can also work.

Firework 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#53 Firework – Katy Perry

From: Teenage Dream

I initially pegged Teenage Dream as the best track in Katy Perry’s latest album but after some deep consideration, I think I made a wrong call and the best track in Mrs. Brand’s latest album should be Firework. It may not be that convincing after the first listen but it will just grow on you.

Na Na Na 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#52 Na Na Na – My Chemical Romance

From: Danger Days (The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

I have to admit I was not a fan of My Chemical Romance’s previous album. However, when Na Na Na came out, the happiness came back. The track is absolutely a far cry from the offerings of the band’s previous album. This new track by the band has a tough attitude to boot and that makes it bad ass over all.

Radioactive 150x150 2010 A Year of Great Music Part V (#60 51)#51 Radioactive – Kings of Leon

From: Come Around Sundown

The lead single of Kings of Leon’s newest album may not have convinced some people right away but in the opinion of yours truly, Radioactive showed that Kings of Leon is not a one-trick pony band. Overall, the track showed that change, when done the right way, could lead to wondrous results.

This ends the fifth part of the list. Feel free to share your two cents by posting a comment!
