This is it. This post will show the blog’s top 10 songs for the year 2010. I apologize for posting it later than expected. YouTube videos of the singles will be included for you to listen to the singles yourselves. Please do share your sentiments or reactions by posting a comment. Anyway, enjoy!
#10 Nothin’ On You – B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars
From: The Adventures of Bobby Ray
Nothin’ On You paved the way for people to finally know both B.o.B and Bruno Mars. Eventually, the two entertainers have achieved more success (and Grammy nominations) but those would not be possible if not for this single. The single displayed what B.o.B can do and showed to the world that there is great crooner in the name of Bruno Mars.
#9 Mirrors – Natalia Kills
From: Perfectionist
There is no doubt that Natalia Kills got a lot of my attention in the year 2010. Zombie paved the way for me to realize that Natalia Kills is one heckuva talent. Her first official single, Mirrors, actually has a story going on in it with Natalia harmonizing her ways of torture, as described by the lyrics of the track.
#8 Once – Diana Vickers
From: Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree
Once went straight to #1 in the UK Charts and proved that being eliminated in X-Factor does not necessarily mean failure. The track blows the listener’s mind to bits, I have to say. Well done, Diana!
#7 King of Anything – Sara Bareilles
From: Kaleidoscope Heart
This song should better win a Grammy for “Best Female Pop Vocal Pop Performance.” If that Grammy goes to Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, I would protest (not really). I hope you get the point.
#6 Power – Kanye West
From: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
The video for Power may show Kanye’s fascination with weird necklaces but there is no denying that this single of his was absolutely incredible. The single displayed that Kanye has returned to his incredible form as a musician. His previous album was not entirely good as Kanye resorted to heavy doses of auto-tune on that one. However, this single has everything working in its favor – the beats and even Kanye’s arrogance.
#5 Fire With Fire – Scissor Sisters
From: Night Work
This song should have earned at least one Grammy nomination. Sadly, it did not. Anyway, Fire With Fire shows how the Scissor Sisters do their business and ending with pop greatness every time.
#4 Get Outta My Way – Kylie Minogue
I made a video breakdown post for the music video. I even praised Kylie’s performance of this song on America’s Got Talent. I literally was smiling once I heard this song from Kylie. I guess there is not much to be said now.
#3 Hang With Me – Robyn
From: Body Talk
I prefer the version of Hang With Me that appeared on Body Talk Pt. 2 though the first version is also good. Anyway, this single by Robyn only showed that she definitely has to have more chart success. It is just unfortunate that she is severely underrated.
#2 Fuck You – Cee Lo Green
From: The Lady Killer
Cee Lo, thank you for making a way for people to keep on saying “fuck you” in their everyday lives. Anyway, this song deserves a Grammy and I have to say I really enjoyed listening to this track.
#1 Dancing On My Own – Robyn
From: Body Talk
I said that when this song came out that it is a “Song of the Year” candidate. It turns out it eventually became my Song of the Year. This is the best pop track to come out this year. Do listen to it if you have not heard it yet. Now.
That ends this year’s list! Hopefully, you had fun reading the list. Post a comment please!
