I have to say that I am still in shock over what has transpired this week.
Let me add this event then: Nicola Roberts is revving up efforts for the promotion of her first single as a solo artist.
Yes, the ginger-haired songstress from renowned girl group Girls Aloud is ready to get her solo career rolling via promoting her debut single entitled Beat of My Drum.
In preparation for her promotion efforts, Nicola just unveiled her website (pictured below) and created a Twitter account as well. The said Twitter account has only one tweet so far which says “4 days to go…” with a promotional photo by Henry Holland accompanying it. The promotional photo is actually the background of both her website and Twitter page. Also, it seems the website is encouraging people to make the #BeatOfMyDrum hashtag trend once the single is released.
There is a still-unofficial single cover (first picture in this post) with the UMG (UMG means Universal Music Group) watermark making rounds lately as well as other details regarding the single. Apparently, Beat of My Drum will also have a B-Side entitled Porcelain Heart. The release date is also said to be June 5 according to one source. However, nothing is official as of today. These details should be treated as speculations for now.
Beat of My Drum is also said to be produced by Diplo and Switch. As far as I know, Nicola is said to be working on an electropop album so I suppose this makes sense.
I simply cannot wait. Will Nicola’s solo career outshine that of Chezza’s? We shall soon find out.
