For those who do not know yet, Kylie Minogue, the “Aphrodite” herself, will come over to the Philippines to perform the Manila leg of her “Aphrodite Live” series of shows. Due to my happiness upon hearing this news, I went over to all the Kylie tracks in my iTunes library and fortunately found out that I have already put into my library her North American EP.

I have mentioned in my review of Aphrodite that Get Outta My Way is magical and remains brilliant even if you strip off the vocals from the track. Months have passed since the release of Aphrodite yet I still enjoy listening to its tracks, particularly the title track, All The Lovers, Everything Is Beautiful, and obviously Get Outta My Way.

So what do I think of the BBC Live Lounge Version which is present in the North American EP?

I have to say Kylie did a great job in creating an intimate listening atmosphere. The arrangement is something to be proud of, I have to say. Kylie sticks to the nature of the original – backing “woohoos” and the piano creates the magic of the track as well. The BBC Live Lounge Version of Get Outta My Way may not blow your socks off your feet but it still is a very pleasurable offering from Kylie. The track also may not be the best live track ever done in history but without a shadow of a doubt, I can confidently say it is one of the very tolerable live tracks ever released by Kylie.

So a dance hit turned into a toned down live version ends up as a very amazing product. Great job, Kylie.
