There are tracks that failed to acquire the massive success that they thoroughly deserve. This is sadly one of them.

Estonia ended up only in 24th place in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. That is just one of the atrocities of the said event. Another atrocity that I would like to point out is that Jedward actually placed higher than Blue.

Anyway, I should stop ranting and just go to what this post is really about.

Rockefeller Street by Getter Jaani has not ceased in infusing its magic on yours truly ever since it was released. A very lovely instrumentation flaunts its dazzling abilities with aplomb. The track is definitely youthful with its energy intensifying as the song progresses. It can also be said that the track is definitely contemporary. The change of pace in the track keeps it dynamic – preventing staleness from impeding its momentum.

There is still no way to express my disbelief regarding the track’s placing in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. A track that is miles ahead of others in terms of entertainment value should have at least garnered a Top 15 finish. There is still no way that this track from Getter deserved a 24th place finish.

She may not have the perfect vocals in this track. I get that. However, a fun track that has the ability to connect with a lot of people certainly should have fared better. The instrumental is magical though. The quality just explodes right away.

24th place or not, I still would like to say that I am glad to have heard this song and let its magic do the work on my aural capabilities. Great work, Getter Jaani!
