Simon Curtis, the man responsible for one of the best free albums ever (that is 8Bit Heart if you do not know) released, actually contributed a track to a compilation album entitled Ballroom Remixed (You may read Paul’s take on the album in his post about it). Simon’s contribution, The Puppet Who Gave Himself Strings, actually may remind you of the tracks included in his 8Bit Heart effort rather than the tracks included in his sophomore effort RA.

I dearly loved 8Bit Heart (Read The Reflective Inklings review). I think it simply delivered in dishing out pure pop goodness. Simon’s contribution to Ballroom Remixed reminded me of why I really loved him in the first place. The sweet vocals remain untainted – giving you the impression that this is actually Simon Curtis being mesmerizing once again.

The instrumental may be a bit simple compared to the more complex included in more recent tunes but the luster remains impeccable. However, this track remains all about the vocals. Fortunately, Simon’s vocals consistently sit in the realm of greatness throughout the track. There is nothing to complain really regarding this track. The track shows how multi-faceted Simon is as an artist and music lovers could easily appreciate this effort.
